Similar to other XLT models the WhisperKOOL 4200 is an easy-to-install self contained unit. These wine cellar cooling units have been designed to fit between standard wall studs and are equipped with a rear flange which allows the units to be mounted through a wall without requiring a support shelf. All WhisperKOOL XLT units can be set at any temperature within the acceptable wine-aging range of 50°F -to- 70°F. It is designed to cool 30°F cooler than the ambient temperature of the space it is exhausting to. Therefore, installation in an interior wall is recommended where outside temperatures reach 80°F.
For temperature control the WhisperKOOL XLT 4200 system uses a liquid temperature probe to measure the temperature of the wine rather than the temperature of the air in the cellar which means the temperature of the wine is more accurately controlled and the unit is allowed to run for longer periods of time which reduces starts and stops and expends the overall life of the wine cooling unit.
Two special features of these models are:
1 – The Condensate Evaporator System
The unit is designed to collect and dissipate excessive moisture, which accumulates during normal operations. A sophisticated heating element dissipates the collected moisture and evaporates it through the exhaust port located on the rear of the unit.
2 – Vibration Free Operation
Vibration can disturb the natural aging process of wine and compromise its quality. The WhisperKOOL 4200 is designed with state-of-the-art compressors and components. This combination is engineered to provide vibration free operation.
Note that all wine cellar cooling units come with a drain line for additional removal of excess condensate, as a back up system to the Condensate Evaporator. If the unit is installed in a high humidity area of the country it is mandatory to install the drain line attachment for the unit to function effectively, preventing overflows and leaks from build up of condensate.
